Unless you are shaving half way through, or have difficult hair, men are usually ok with just having the hair/makeup artist here just for the beginning.

I highly recommend that women keep the hair/makeup artist for the whole shoot. The one exception is if you have extremely short hair (meaning pixie/boy cut).
